Obedience                                                          " The key to freedom is obedience. The more obedient we are, the more freedom we have."

I think what Boyd is trying to say is that when you behave good you have the right to do many things you can possibly do. So for example if you are in jail you don't have a lot of freedom. The only thing you could do is think about your life. But if you behave good you will be rewarded with freedom like doing what ever you like your favorite hobby or something else you love doing.

A trial of freedom can be made by obeying. Obeying can get you anywhere in life. Even the impossible. So that's why being obedient all the time gets you freedom to hang around anywhere and do anything. Being locked up doesn't get you anywhere. Not even a little bit of freedom.
